Nazi Germany is a very good case of persuasion influencing history.
After WWI, Germany was suffering greatly from its loss, specifically economically. The National Socialist (Nazi) Celebration utilized Jews as scapegoats because they have been observed as the fiscal elite (this is simply because lending income was prohibited by the church in the middle ages so most bankers had been Jews rather of Christians). The German men and women were angry, upset, and confused, and really open to persuasion, and all it took was a skilled orator (Adolf Hitler) to rouse them into becoming genocidal sociopaths. Ordinary folks did terrible things because they had been persuaded.
