URGENT! Ought to I write about my vegetarian beliefs for english class?

Question by Aвιgαιl ღ: URGENT! Ought to I create about my vegetarian beliefs for english class?
For my honors english class, we do a Portfolio assignment. Effectively I completely forgot that the plan of what we’re going to do is due tomorrow.
So I’m hunting by way of my checklist of ideas she gave us, and one particular choice is writing a persuasive essay (it can be about something that interests you). I thought this would be a excellent time to create about why I think humans are naturally herbivores, since I have SO numerous good arguments about it, and I enjoy writing about these types of items.
But the factor is, I’m scared that either my teacher will be too bias and fail me due to the fact she thinks it’s nonsense (given that most people do not think that humans are herbivores), or that we’ll have to present the paper. I am not sure if we have to present or not. This is what the list of ideas says.

“Write a persuasive speech in which you persuade your audience (who ever you establish that to be) to take action against some thing. It could be a thing apoliticallyly minded as the war in Iraq or something as silly as performing your homework. Your ought to work in the elements of persuasion as effectively arhetoricalal questions, parallelism, and detailed examples. In addition, you will write a reflection paper in which you go over what elements of persuasion are present in your speech”.

Does it sound like we would present this considering that it says “who ever your determine that to be”? And would it be a good thought to write about?
Sorry I mispelled a lot but I’m in a rush (it is 2am and im figuring this out).
I really just do not want to have to present it since I wouldn’t feel cozy talking about it infront of the class. If the teacher reads it I do not care…
Does it sound like we would present it from what is mentioned in the rubric? It says “your audience (who ever you establish that to be)”. I do have some extremely sturdy arguments.
I could constantly uncover an substitute and ask the teach tomorrow just before we turn in our concepts if we’re presenting. If she says yes, I’ll basically use the alternative. If no, I’ll use the vegetarian essay.

absolutely. here’s a point you can include if you need to do the stupid “3 point argument” standard garbage.

Gorillas are naturally herbivores, and there genetic makeup is 98-99% similar to humans (thanks wikipedia!)

if you want to use quotations, go on Youtube and watch the video for “Purina Hall of Fame” by Propagandhi. if you don’t like punk music, put it on mute. If you don’t like graphic imagery, skip to the last 30 seconds of the video (the quotes are all at the end)

If you wouldn’t feel comfortable presenting it in front of the class, I wouldn’t use that subject. And while your teacher should grade your paper fairly regardless of her own opinion, everyone is human and sometimes it’s hard not to be overly critical of something you simply don’t believe in. Also, I would avoid getting into something so biologically focused in a persuasive essay. If you really want to write about vegetarianism, I’d choose something a little less controversial, such as why your school should do “Meatless Mondays” or something like that.

To mo (cfc)~ : I have never known an English teacher to accept Wikipedia or Youtube as a source. I’m not trying to be rude; I’m just saying I’ve seen kids get failing grades for trying to cite them in papers.

If you’re able to write a good paper on this subject, then do it. I don’t agree with your belief but that doesn’t mean I’d automatically give you a poor grade if it’s well written and well thought out.

The whole idea is to write about something you have to convince others about.
    Yes. Write it!

My kids have done various persuasive essays over the years on being vegan. They always get a good grade and it is well-received.

    Good luck.
