Decadent Deserts & Hot Romance, May 22, 2011

Xavier and Selena are a good match. They are both adults who know what they want out of life and what is important. Selena is a bit gun shy as she is getting over a bad relationship but Xavier is determined and once he makes up his mine that she is the one for him. Ms. Alers manages to combine several things that I love in this story, decadent deserts, a bit of history, intrigue and romance. All I can say is scrumptious.

Rating 4.5 This is the fifth book in the Eatons series and once again Rochelle has delivery. Ex-Military Xavier Eaton and that song by Salt & Pepper “What A Man” that is Xavier he say what he mean and mean what he say it is either black or white there is no room for gray. The day he walks into Sweet Persuasion to purchase some goodies for his sister & mother it was the beginning to their journey to romance. Xavier had taken a teaching job which brought him back to his home away from home South Carolina. Selena West is the owner of Sweet Persuasion who has made South Carolina her home town. Once Selena see this man walk into her patisserie this tall handsome man who she pretend not to let on that she is checking him out as he is checking her out. Their romance starts off with Xavier pretending to be her boyfriend but ends up they are not pretending anymore. Although there is an instance attraction Selena tries to put the brakes on this attraction but it is not happening. As there romance continue they realize that they are falling in love and that scares Selena, she has been there done that so. Selena the actress was at the top of her game until she met and fell in love with Derek at least she thought she was in love, she met Derek when she was working on a soap opera and they had whirlwind romance but thing began to change. These change so much that she had to live LA and move to South Carolina to start her life over again. If you have enjoyed the Eatons you will surely enjoy this book. I recommend you add this to your collection. Smooches Louise
