My wife and I cry and laugh out loud every time we see this film….it is a tender and moving film, fantastic for the whole family…the scene wherever the confederate solider is pinned to the tree escaping death is really emotional…..advise…..please……

I agree it is a extremely good film the only factor I didn’t like about it is that their son decides to battle. Whrn Anthony Perkins and Grace Kelly (in High Noon), each Quakers, resort to violence, or Robert de Niro, Catholic priest in Sleepers, lies in court, the religious backgorund of their characters and or of the movie crumbles then everything we saw prior to these scenes had small meaning.

I loved that movie. I have to say my favorite part is when the father and son go to the old womans house and she’s talking about her husband who has passed away and points to the fire.
