Question by Kezza: Aid please! Persuasion abilities necessary?
Okay properly I have to guinea pigs (Snuggle and Squeak) and they are two years old. When we first got them the breeder (who is also our friend) gave us a tiny indoor cage to borrow even though we looked for a cage. We looked for indoor cages but ended up obtaining a hutch with a run that clips on. We have them outside in summer season and in winter we bring the hutch into the garage (the garage has never ever had a auto in so do not worry about fumes and so forth.) Me and my mum would really like an indoor cage as effectively so in the winter they can be in the house and not in the garage and we could also have them in it at evening in the summer season time.. When we advised this to my dad he mentioned there was no way that we could have them inside due to the fact they would be smelly!! I could not comprehend due to the fact when we first got them the program was to have them indoors but I then realized that it was due to the fact he had heard this story from us….. We went to keep at someones home and their son had pet rats in his space and they STANK you could smell it from the landing (and his door was closed) when you opened his door it was a genuinely unpleasant smell. (My dad wasn’t there, but he heard it from us when we came home)
Today me and mum went up to our garden centre when my dad was at perform and bought a beautiful indoor cage. We purchased it home and put it on the utility side (which is exactly where we planned to have it. It is also opposite the fridge) And my brother came into the area and saw it (he is with dad – against the notion) and was like “why did you acquire that??”
Mum planned to say to dad when he got property from function “We have a confession…” but when dad got property my brother rushed outdoors and told dad “they’ve purchased an indoor guinea pig cage, with this large smirk on his face as he knew dad was going to be angry.”
Dad came in and wasn’t at all joyful and got my brother to aid him move the cage by the back door.
I haven’t stated anything about it considering that and have acted polite and typical….
I also asked mum when dad wasn’t around “what are we going to do??” she said “I thought he may well have came round if your brother hadn’t of said something… we will probably take the cage back..”
This broke my heart.. My dad is strongly against the notion of guinea pigs inside as he said they will smell like the boys rats (I won’t say the boys name)… How can I persuade my dad to let us have the cage inside??? Also I payed for the cage with my birthday income…. (sorry this is a lot for you to study, I just want help)
Also I have not put any bedding or paper in the cage it is how it came from the store apart from me and mum attached the platform and water bottle.. It does not have my guinea pigs in – they are outdoors

i have had 2 guinea pigs in a cage inside for 2 years and they do not stink at all as long as you clean them out monthly with a garden hose hope i helped
